Usually when clients discover me, they have gone to doctors, done the labs, have tried various modalities and are sick and tired of being sick and tired. My focus is on healing digestion and nervous system regulation. I have found beginning an elimination diet, creating mind-body attunement, and a movement practice creates a wonderful foundation. I do have an open mind to healing. I do not believe there is a one size fits all approach. We all have our own epigenetics and nutrigenomics at play. I do have a few basics I begin with as part of the nourish, nurture, and embody philosophy. Below are a few of my recommended resources for nourishing from the inside out, nurturing from the outside in, and embodying your essence and flow. Tune in and see what resonates with you. Start where you are. Try it on your own or request a virtual connection with me if you need support. "We are walking each other home." Ram Dass Nourish yourself with whole foods and gentle supplementation for an inside out approach.
The Super Seven gene SNPs might also be discussed depending on your symptoms. Dirty Genes is an excellent book to get to know more about how these gene variations may or may not be affected by your diet, lifestyle, and environmental factors. Nurture yourself with rituals and practices to create a bodily container for an outside in approach.
Embody practices that connect you to your essence.
As we become more in tune with our bodies, I incorporate nervous system and somatic (body) based inquires. Some of my somatic mentors include Irene Lyon, Jane Clapp, Deirdre Fay, Nityda Gessel, and Dr. Gabor Mate. This connects us to the rhythms of regulation. These sessions are done together, one-on-one, in person, or virtually. Can you allow yourself to express your feelings with movement? Be intentional with your movement, find your flow, let the movement be a metaphor. Find what moves you! Incorporate movement with intention and attention while moving in a way that resonates with you. For me this is where Qoya and Steel Mace Flow have been transformative. This can also be a yoga practice as well. Find what you enjoy and allow your movement to move through you. No need to worry about how it looks or whether your form is perfect. Focus on how it feels in your body. This is where intention and attunement come in; never push yourself to the point of pain or strain. Qoya creates a container to express myself as I move with specific feelings and emotions. I apply the same concept when I incorporate Steel Mace Flow. It reminds me of the strength and power I contain within. I can forget and disconnect from those parts within myself. Intentional movement reconnects me to those parts and I am reminded of my true essence. Feel free to refer to some of my curated playlists from previous classes and workshops. "When we long for something, it is because we have felt that feeling before. It is a reminder to reconnect with a part of us we have disconnected from." Qoya needs no intro to the movement practice, move in a safe manner in ways that feel good to you! For safety precautions I do recommend becoming familiar with the steel mace, as it is steel and weighted. Go slow and move with intention. I personally use a 5 lb steel mace. It is often recommended to begin with a 7 lb steel mace, use your best judgement. It is not so much about having a heavy weight. You want to connect with the mace as an extension of you. I brought Energetix homeopathic and botanical remedies into my practice because of their outstanding opening channels program's ability to open up the channels of elimination and drainage pathways. Energetix is dedicated to providing outstanding resources and solutions. The Opening Channels Program is a unique combination of homeopathic, botanical, and nutritional supplements designed to “set the stage” for healing by opening the pathways of elimination in the body, including the colon, liver, spleen, kidneys, etc. The synergistic ingredients in the Opening Channels products have been used traditionally to aid and assist with digestion, elimination, hydration, pH balancing, and liver/gut function. Elimination and Drainage is necessary for appropriate detox. The body naturally has the capacity to find and eliminate toxicity to maintain balance within the body.
The primary pathways of elimination are: digestion (intestines), liver, lungs, kidneys, and lymph! If you have symptoms of any type inflammation, your body is compensating due to toxic load in your primary pathways of elimination. Our secondary pathways of elimination are: skin, sinus and reproductive system. If you are experiencing chronic headaches & sinus congestion, acne or skin inflammation, irregular or painful menstrual cycles, your body is sending you messages! These symptoms are indicating there is an issue with your primary elimination pathways. These are definite imbalances in the function and effectiveness of the body's primary pathways of elimination and therefore are clogging the secondary pathways of elimination (skin, sinuses & reproductive organs) leading to these disruptive and uncomfortable symptoms. The body is a flow system designed to heal via cellular communication, nourishment and the cleansing of toxicity and metabolic bi-products. If the primary pathways are clogged, function will diminish and toxicity and waste products will back-up, clogging and affecting the secondary pathways of elimination. When the body is congested it cannot rest, repair, or regenerate. |
